Padlocks of Paris!

Once upon a time, not so long ago …
Couples of lovers visiting Paris had the desire to put a lock on the river Seine bridges and throw away the keys into its waters. It was the symbol of eternal love, marriage and a locked on commitment (with seven keys). The tradition that had begun, probably in Italy, brought to the bridges of Paris much more than tons of love, but also the risk of accidents because of the weight of so many padlocks to the point of damaging the structure of the bridges. Thus, in 2015 the padlocks were removed, but not for the saddening of lovers, because without padlocks love can then gain new symbols, perhaps freer and lighter.
And as the poet said: “Let it not be immortal, since it is flame. But let it be infinite while it lasts.”
